More on Stompernet

As you may already know, I was one of the people who signed up to the Stompernet SIMPLE $1 trial in May. We had limited access for a month, while being taken step by step through their new program designed to get newbies up and running with an info product in record time.

So was it any good?

Overall I would have to say YES. Although I didn’t sign up for full access at nearly $800/month, it could be worth it simply for access to some of the SEO gurus they have on the faculty. I did sign up to continue the SIMPLE process though. Although I’m far from a newbie I am currently looking to diversify my revenue streams and one of the ways to do that on autopilot is to sell info products.

So what’s good and bad:

  • Some of the TOP internet marketing experts guide you through the process
  • Each step is explained in a short video as well as in writing
  • The whole process is through an online workbook
  • The forums allow you to swap ideas and ask the experts

But…

  • Under delivery -  The program promised an internet business by the end of 30 days, but in fact all we had was an incomplete website with no traffic.
  • Unorganised – the program was a bit too fluid and it was clear that things changed as we went along. In the week before it started Ed Dale had a set of videos in which he told us to set up an iTunes account and Twitter. We didn’t use either of these in the program.
  • Concepts were not always explained well. Landing pages were talked about and pre-sell pages talked about, but not the content required and whether these terms referred to the same page content or not.
  • No clear overview.

I’ll see how it goes paying $97/month as I am interested in learning how to use some of the web 2.0 marketing techniques to generate traffic, but think that much of the 30 day period allocated for Stompernet SIMPLE was wasted.

  • Hi Dave,

Keep us posted on your Stomer progress… I too signed up, but bailed at then end of the 30 days as I couldn’t justify the $100 p/m given all my other focuses…

Did I get $1 value? Absolutely, but did feel I didn’t get the mamouth value promised in the lead up.

    Cheers,

    Pete

Don’t worry Pete, I’ll keep you updated as much as I can. I think many people were surprised at how it turned out at the end – it all seemed too much like a money grab for my liking.

One of the things I’ve already pointed out were that there seemed to be inconsistencies between what Ed Dale thought he was doing and what StomperNet wanted him to do.

I’ve been looking at the 30 day challenge today and although I haven’t seen any video of listened to the audios, it seems much more focused on getting a site producing revenue well within the 30 days. Why wasn’t StomperNet SIMPLE able to do this too? After all it was devised by the same guy.

I think the answer is simply that it was designed to sign people up for Stomper – whether the full thing or SIMPLE.

What I don’t see is that I’m going to get any value out of it after 3 or 4 months – it was never conceived as a subscription service but a fast start overview of how anyone really can earn money online.

The problem is that after 6 weeks (ish) I haven’t earned a penny. I will do as I have 6 years or so experience with affiliate marketing and just want to follow the system. But it’s got too many holes, inconsistencies and lack of support – where are the faculty members in the forums? They’ve practically died.

I notice the 30 day challenge is in August – shame I’ll be on holiday this year, but I’ll sign up and try and follow the audio/video just to get a taste of what it’s about and post about that too.

I’m also thinking of joining Immediate Edge – Ed actually alluded to there going to be an offer with Immediate Edge, but unfortunately it never materialised – but will probbaly wait until September so that I can keep going with SIMPLE. Also, I’m currently in my slack period so can afford to spend plenty of time playing with new systems.

I hope I’m wrong about SIMPLE and that it offers terrific long term value. At the moment I can’t see it.

I just checked – Ed didn’t say there would be a good deal on Immediate Edge for SIMPLE members, he said not to sign up because there would be a good deal for SIMPLE members coming along. i.e. SIMPLE at $97.

PS I’ve become a complete twitter spammer in the last day, need to cut down it’s not good.
